Graduate Student

Developing buccal films presents several challenges, including factors related to chemical stability, drug dissolution, mucosal permeation, mucoadhesion, compatibility with polymers, and the reproducibility of manufacturing processes. To address these challenges, my research project investigates the formulation of buccal films, with a primary focus on nanoparticle-based delivery. To implement a quality-by-design strategy, our investigations encompass preformulation, nanoparticle and patch design, as well as the development of new analytical methods for performance characterization.

The significance of this endeavor lies in its potential to revolutionize therapy, offering a non-invasive and efficient alternative to conventional routes of administration.
